Managing the commercial operations of the BTC pipeline running from Baku in Azerbaijan through to Ceyhan in Turkey is a complex business, and the EnergySys platform was judged to be the only viable option for the company. The EnergySys platform provides the foundation for the commercial operations system (COSMOS), developed for a major crude oil pipeline that transports over 1m bbl oil per day from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean coast.

The SMART system is an application of EnergySys that manages the allocation of gas and NGLs for the 323km gas pipeline system in the North Sea. These enhancements have allowed us to drive down the costs of change, and to meet the customer’s needs without expensive upgrades or platform replacements.

The SCOPE management system supports the core activities of this joint-venture in controlling the technical operation of the pipeline. This means the provision of necessary and sufficient metered data to partners in an accurate and timely fashion; ensuring effective Hydrocarbon Accounting Volumes management; providing effective Nominations management; and supporting statutory and management reporting.
